In short, it has been a spectacular season. First and foremost I just want to say thank you to the team of professionals behind the camera and editing screens that have made our production possible. The cameramen who stand firm often in the face of chaos and danger, and the countless hours of film capture our editing teams spend at the screen all result in our weekly effort to provide the thrill, adventure, and danger that is safari.
I wish to say a special Thank You to our sponsors. They are part of the Safari Classic family, and without their support we could not do what we do. These companies are leaders in their respective fields, and we are grateful that they choose our program to reach out to their consumer customers. The new Tracks Across Africa look and feel has been getting excellent feedback, and I am excited as we start to edit and create our 2013 safari season for OUTDOOR CHANNEL.
This year we have captured some amazing hunting \ safari experiences on the front line, with our team of cameramen covering no less than nine different African countries. With over over 500 filming days in the bag this season, 2013 promises to be the most exciting Tracks season yet.
Our Highlights include Hector Carbajals Botswana tusker , one of the last safaris to go through the Okavango delta. Hector made us all proud, taking the biggest Botswana elephant bull in the country for 2012 with me. That is no small feat in a country with the highest average and a quota of in excess of 500 bulls – Well done hector! I might add that cameraman Simon Elton captured the moment superbly, and it will become a truly memorable episode of Tracks Across Africa.
We filmed our first Ethiopia safari ever with Stephen Bindon of Trijicon. This countries great prize, the mountain Nyala, provided a fantastic hunt as well as amazing footage in the cloud forests of the Sorroro Mountains. In addition, Stephen takes several other great trophies, and you will enjoy another truly unique African experience when this episode airs.
More than anything for me personally, this year was a year to highlight just how important hunters dollars are to wildlife in the third world. Our facebook page has received a great fan response, and I have tried my best between long hunting days to keep everyone up on what we are up to on location around Africa.
Its an important time of year for us as this is voting time for the much prized Outdoor Channel GOLDEN MOOSE AWARDS. These are given to fan voted best overall show, best hunting series, and best show host. An African safari themed show such as Tracks has never won this before, and with your help we would like to change that!!
Please take a few minutes and vote for TRACKS ACROSS AFRICA as the best series, best hunting series, and best host, (IVAN CARTER) on the link below
This makes it sound like its all about me but let me just say I have the easiest part of the job. It’s the cameramen who stand firm in the face of danger and adverse conditions who bring home the magic. At that point our producers the editors work their magic to give the final product the look and feel that Tracks Across Africa is known for. It is a team effort, and I am so proud to be a member of such a talented group of professionals.
In closing, let me say we are very proud to announce that we will be producing a second show on the Outdoor Channel next year. Please look for DARK AND DANGEROUS with IVAN CARTER. This new series will have a very different show to Tracks, but it will appeal to the adventurous safari enthusiast. Please enjoy the following teaser to give you an idea of what its all about!
